KIDS (Karnataka Integrated Development Services) Dharwad is a Non profit, Voluntary, registered Trust working for the overall development of women and children in urban and rural areas of Dharwad district since 1994. KIDS was able to successfully implement 11 projects so far. Currently, it has been implementing six projects in Dharwad district.

With the strong presence in north Karnataka during the past one decade, KIDS could play a major role in the lives of underprivileged women and children. The organization, at present, has been working in 75 villages spread across the district. Residential bridge camps, Self Help Groups, Children’s groups, and community groups in the district are the highlights of its decadal presence. Being part of various state and national networks, KIDS has established its advocacy role on the issues related to child rights. It has been recognized by the government departments as resource centre in the issues of women and children.

Mission :

To assist the communities in Dharwad district to develop and sustain HIV/AIDS, mental illness prevention and mitigation programs those most in need. To promote and conduct testing, counseling, advocacy, awareness, care treatment and rehabilitation services for those infected by HIV/AIDS and mental illness. To provide a safe environment where people infected by HIV/AIDS and mental illness can access the required resources and services for improving their quality of health and behavior.

KIDS gives active witness to the mandate to human needs in the following ways:

• By supporting self – help programs which involve people and communities in their own development.
• By helping those it serves to restore and preserve their dignity and to realize their potential.
• By collaborating with nonsectarian person and groups of goodwill in programs and projects which contribute to a more equitable society
• By helping to educate the people of the district to fulfill their moral responsibilities in alleviating human suffering, removing its causes and promoting social justice.
